Client Confidential; Performance-based EHS Organizational Structure
This global crude oil and natural gas company with extensive retail and refining operations asked MetaVu to help define and develop organizational design strategies and capabilities consistent with best-in-class EHS (environmental, health and safety) performance. Faced with inconsistent EHS performance in different operating divisions and geographies, the client was interested in identifying industry best practices to inform its own organizational structure.
MetaVu used its extensive knowledge of the oil and gas industry and the EHS function as well as its research capabilities and organizational design experience to identify environmental performance and cost-effectiveness benchmarks associated with various organizational designs. The value of efficient and effective environmental performance was quantified and correlated with various organizational designs to establish the basis of the business case for organizational changes and capability development strategies.
