Case study: Equipment refurbishment

A GK customer purchased a used VIBRA-MILL Sand reclaimer sight unseen from a closed foundry in the south and wanted to use it to break down sand for pneumatic conveying. The VIBRA-MILL, originally commissioned in 1975, was of unknown condition.

The customer returned the unit to have GK inspect the machine to determine if it was in operating condition. GK received the unit and proceeded with a thorough inspection of the machine.

Due to the durability of General Kinematics machines, the 36 year old unit required very little work to return to original operating condition. General Kinematics repaired the few compromised welds and serviced the mechanical equipment on the machine.

The unit was quickly and affordably returned to a production-ready condition. The customer saved considerable money having GK recondition a pre-owned machine, and General Kinematics kept another proven machine in operation.
