- Site underlain by 8ft (2.5m) to 20 ft (6m) of interbedded sand and sany clay; below the unconsolidated deposits, the bedrock is a friable weathered limestone.
- Water table is located in limestone at a depth of 28ft (8.5m).
- City of Chiefland has two water supply well approximately 0.25 miles (0.4km) southwest of site.
- Ground water flow at bulk facility appears to be affected by the pumping of the municipal wells.
