China: pushing towards centralised scrap procurement

While also covering non-ferrous metals, the China International Metal Recycling Forum is geared primarily towards the ferrous side of the trade, with this year’s event producing calls from high-profile speakers to press ahead with centralised ferrous scrap procurement. The Forum also heard that the country’s long-awaited national recycling and conservation law is likely to come into effect by the end of this year.
