Cowley Manor is a magnificent country house set in 55 acres of parkland; its gardens are famous for its lakes and Victorian cascades. The property was completely refurbished and opened as a hotel in 2002.

However the original plant failed to achieve its design performance and after various modifications and pressure from the Environment Agency, Watling Hope were approached and asked to provide a solution.

Watling Hope undertook a detailed assessment and sized the system to provide adequate compliance with the Environment Agency’s discharge standards.

It was important that installation could be undertaken without interruption to the Hotel’s business and with minimum inconvenience to the guests and staff. The screening-off of the working area and careful planning of deliveries was a major consideration.

Following acceptance of Watling Hope’s proposals a new WPL HiPAF® sewage treatment plant was installed adjacent to the original plant which became redundant.

  • New WPL HiPAF® sewage treatment plant installed
  • Works screened off from guests during installation
  • Site operation unaffected throughout works
  • Site no longer restricted by limits of sewage system.
  • Odours and nuisance eliminated
  • A significant reduction in Tankering costs.

“I was surprised that a such a major installation was undertaken with so little inconvenience and was particularly impressed that the full performance of the plant was achieved so quickly and continued to be maintained well within the required standard. “Stuart McPherson - Hotel Manager
