Crushing and screening bubble is not about to burst
World demand for crushing and screening equipment has surged in the
last two years. But this is no short-term phenomenon, believes Metso
Minerals’ Luís Santos, who foresees a sustained period of high demand
for this type of kit. He also highlights customers’ increasing focus on
operating costs when choosing new equipment, the move among manufacturers
to become solutions providers over the whole life of their
equipment, and the unfulfilled potential of construction waste recycling.
Rarely do stars come into alignment quite as neatly as they currently are for the crushing and screening sector. The general health of the world economy, record mineral prices and a boom in construction - not forgetting the rise of China, India and Russia - have all catapulted demand for crushing and screening equipment from recession to boom in the space of 36 months.
