Darden Restaurants improved 50 spots in this year's Newsweek Green Rankings, placing 198 overall on the list that ranks the best environmental performers among the country’s largest publicly traded companies. The Newsweek Green Rankings are considered the most rigorous of their kind.
In the fourth annual environmental ranking, Newsweek analyzed the 500 largest publicly traded companies in America to help “cut through the green chatter and compare the actual environmental footprint, management (policies, programs, initiatives and controversies) and reporting practices.” Newsweek partnered with two leading research organizations to create the rankings.
