Design and operating parameter analysis to improve the performance of solar desiccant wheel using a mathematical model: part–II

A mathematical model has been used to predicting the design and operating parameter of desiccant wheel for performance analysis of desiccant wheel. Model considered both gas and solid side resistance. The model shows good agreement with experimental data. It was found that the moisture removal and temperature difference of the process air increases with increasing process inlet moisture, regeneration temperature, regeneration inlet velocity and these decreases with increasing process/regeneration area ratio, process inlet velocity, process inlet temperature and regeneration inlet moisture. For the best moisture removal, the rotational speed must lie in the range of 15 to 25 rph.
