With the goal of achieving world class EHS performance, a global Life Sciences Company contracted with Antea Group to develop and implement a corporate environmental, health and safety audit program that included assessment of EHS compliance at operating facilities worldwide.
Antea Group developed an EHS management system strategy and road map aligned with EHS objectives and business performance goals. To ensure consistent adoption throughout the organization and support facility level performance, EHS management standards and program implementation tools were also developed.
To date Antea Group has conducted over 45 full-scale EHS audits at facilities including diagnostic test labs, radiopharmaceutical production facilities, analytical equipment manufacturing sites, animal testing laboratories and clinical trial sites in Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Northern Ireland, Singapore, Taiwan, United Kingdom and the United States.
Audit activities focused on emergency preparedness, waste management, chemical safety, work environment safety, resource conservation and supply chains. Audit results were regularly reported to the client Board of Directors.
Through the corporate audit program, the client was able to successfully identify EHS risks and drive systemic improvements across facility operations. Adoption of site level global standards have produced positive trends in reduced legal compliance findings and advanced transformation towards world-class EHS performance as evidenced by the client’s recent listing on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index.
