RANGE OF DETECTION: Low range: 0.0025 mg/cm2 to 0.037 mg/cm2 (2.46 ng/cm2 to 37.0 ng/cm2), High range: 0.012 mg/cm2 to 0.185 mg/cm2 (12.3 ng/cm2 to 185 ng/cm2)

MATERIALS:
Methomyl RaPID AssayÒ Kit and Sample Diluent. RaPID Prepä DFR Wash. Equipment: 2.54 cm (1 inch) diameter leaf punch and collection jar (Rabbit Tool U.S.A, Rock Island, IL), a 1.0 mL repeating pipet and a precision pipet capable of delivering 200 mL (required for use with the Methomyl RaPID Assay Kit); serological pipets, micropipette (50 or 250 mL), 5 mL capacity test tubes or vials.


DISLODGING PROCEDURE:
Place forty (40) leaf punches in a glass jar (4 oz. minimum). Add 50 mL of DFR Wash Solution per 40 leaf punches. Vigorously shake jar by hand for one minute.

DILUTION PROCEDURE:
A. For detection of methomyl in the low range: Dispense 4.75 mL of the Methomyl Sample Diluent into a test tube or vial (one set of 40 leaf samples). Transfer a 250 mL aliquot of the sample to the 4.75 mL Sample Diluent. Vortex or invert sample to mix. This mixture is now measured as the 'sample' according to the package insert of the Methomyl RaPID Assay Kit. A. For detection of methomyl in the high range: Dispense 4.95 mL of the Methomyl Sample Diluent into a test tube or vial (one for each 50 mL sample). Transfer a 50 mL aliquot of the sample to the 4.95 mL Sample Diluent. Vortex or invert sample to mix. This mixture is now measured as the 'sample' according to the package insert of the Methomyl RaPID Assay Kit.
