Determination of Design Parameters of a Mesh-Type Soil Reinforcement
Problems in determining design parameters of a new mesh-type soil reinforcement are investigated. A special apparatus referred to as the split-box was developed to enable measurement of design parameters with large-scale laboratory tests. In addition to the scale of the tests, the design innovations of the split-box ensure reliability of test results, as verified by a number of calibration tests. Test data are highly consistent and support the relevance of conducting tests with the split-box.
