Sludge from the secondary treatment system lagoon at the New York mill of Schweitzer-Mauduit International, Inc. had to be removed.

Geotube technology with SmartFeed Chemical Conditioning System supporting technology was the most cost-effective and  efficient method  of containing  and dewatering the sludge.

The dredging contractor removed 3,285 cubic yards of sludge from the lagoon in five days, using 300 linear feet of 60-foot circumference Geotube units to contain and dewaterthe sludge.
