Background:
Fluidyne provided an ISAM 15 package plant for Eagle Travel Center. A truck stop and restaurant, located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains off Interstate 70. The package plant is made of carbon steel coated in epoxy. It consists of a four-chambered rectangular tank with two separate compartments for pre-treatment/sludge storage (trash trap tank), flow equalization (anoxic tank), biological treatment (SBR tank) and effluent equalization. In addition, Fluidyne also provided the process pumps, aspirators, actuated valves, level control and a control panel equipped to automate the entire system.
The plant discharges to the nearby Colorado River. It was designed for 15,100 gallons per day with a peak flow of 19,200 gallons with loadings of 210 mg/L BOD and 105 mg/L TSS. The discharge permit is 30 mg/L BOD, 30 mg/L TSS and ammonia between 1.9-3.7 mg/L depending on the time of the year.
Since commissioning in July of 2012 this plant has performed well. The plant is operated by a local contract operator and maintained daily by the truck stop employees. Fluidyne continues to work closely with the operator to ensure the best possible effluent quality.
