According to the EPA and American Medical Association (AMA), studies indicate that indoor levels of many pollutants may be 25 times and occasionally more than 200 times higher than outdoor levels. While older buildings present the issue of a large buildup of contaminants over time, today’s buildings are built so air tight that the health risks may be even greater. According to the EPA, people spend 90% of their time indoors and in the last 30 years, the number of people with asthma has gone up by almost 60%.
