Energy and exergy analysis of a combined transcritical CO2 compression refrigeration and single effect H2O-LiBr vapour absorption system

0
A refrigeration system is conceived and analysed wherein high grade waste heat from the gas cooler of a TCRS is utilised to operate a single effect H
2
O-LiBr VARS. A simulation program is developed for computation of optimum gas cooler pressure of TCRS. The COP and ?
ex
for individual TCRS and VARS as well as for the combined system have been evaluated. For different values of evaporator temperature and T
4
in TCRS, the increase in refrigerating capacity for the combined system ranges from 3.52?49.80%, while the COP and ?
ex
increase by 3.72?48.96% and 1.40?10.18% respectively over TCRS.
