Resource Energy was engaged by a major property owner to design an energy supply product that met the unique energy profile of a group of more than a dozen large enclosed regional malls. The customer was seeking to implement a strategy to minimize and control the risk of rising energy prices, while at the same time providing a high degree of budget certainty for itself and its several hundred tenants.

Resource Energy, in conjunction with one of the largest electricity supply companies in the world, developed a unique energy supply product. This proprietary product was structured to take into account the energy usage profile of each of the shopping centers, as well as the specific objectives of the property owner.

The result of implementing this unique, proprietary product was that the property owner had successfully hedged against rising energy costs at minimal expense. In addition, significant cost savings were realized by structuring the energy supply product around the particular energy usage of each property. In all, the customer realized each and every one of its objectives and was able to reduce its overall energy spend by approximately 15%.
