Enhanced Bioremediation of TPH with IXPER® case study

This remediation has been conducted after removing of leaking underground storage tanks from a former gasoline service station in Bethalto, Illinois, and limited source area excavation and air-site disposal of petroleum-contaminated soils. Dissolved petroleum constituents in excess of state reguatory standards were still observed in the groundwater. It was estimated that the remaining contamination woud take more than ten years to adequatey attenuate.

Enhanced aerobic bioremediation was seected as a reasonaby priced realtivey non-invasive means of further reducing the levels of remaining contamination.

Injection of mainly XPER® 75C Cacium Peroxide successfuy promoted reduction of concentrations for other petroleum constituents incuding ethybenzene, xyenes and naphthaene.
