EQuIS now contains over 15 million chemical/physical discrete monitoring results after the recent completion of the EDMS (Closed Landfills) database migration. Growth for other MPCA Remediation and Solid Waste programs will depend on the rate that labs and contractors adopt the new standard lab and field EDD submittal formats and on associated location establishment. Groundwater and surface water monitoring programs continue to add data at a consistent pace.
All State programs owning suitable data may participate in this enterprise system. We invite and encourage such participation across agencies. Standardized reference values, identifiers, quality controls, and applications ensure consistency across programs and allow a user to query the entire database as easily as querying one program’s data. Each program manages its own data, subject to system-wide data standards. Suitable data can be made available automatically on MPCA’s EDA web site. On request, program data can be reported to EPA via WQX on the Exchange Network.
Current counts: 380 facilities - 926 monitoring projects - 31,600 monitoring point locations
