ESC Lab Sciences is a certified national environmental laboratory that sets priority in recycling and minimizing resource consumption such as organic solvents. Its services cover the common organic, inorganic, biological, hazardous characteristic analyses as well as IH/IAQ.
Application: USEPA 8270/625 SVOC, 8081A,B/608 organochlorine pesticides, 8082/608 polychlorinated biphenyls, and 8015 nonhalogenated organics
Organic pollutants in solvent extracts prepared from many types of solid waste matrices, soils, and water samples are determined in compliance with the EPA methods stated above. A paramount step in the procedure is the reproducible concentration with adequate analyte and solvent recovery prior to quantitative analysis. Semivolatile organic compounds (SVOC) are particularly difficult to recover due to their volatile nature.
Equipment: The Syncore® Analyst R-12, V-700 Vacuum Pump, V-855 Vacuum Controller and Recirculating Chiller (Lauda WK 3200)
The Syncore® Analyst concentrates samples to a pre-defined volume due to its chilled appendage technology. It comes equipped with a solvent recovery system that is capable of collecting >95 % of solvent. The pressure setting is automated by the V-855 Vacuum Controller yielding high reproducibility between runs.
Benefit / Conclusion: Compliant with US EPA requirements for SVOCs
The Syncore® Analyst with the V-855 Vacuum Controller provides reproducible and adequate analyte and solvent recovery to suffice the US EPA requirements even for semivolatile compounds. The Syncore® Analyst’s advanced automation reduces labor cost due to its chilled appendage technology and gradient vacuum controls.
