Evaluation of HSE Measures at PAAET Facilities – Staff Response
The Public Authority of Applied Education and Training in Kuwait, PAAET, is in the process to develop an HSE code after suffering from two major accidents occurred to a faculty member and a student in one of its colleges. The paramount objective of the project is to develop an HSE code which fits PAAET requirements, while the objective of this research is to conduct a survey on staff members’ response of their evaluation of the HSE regulations at PAAET. Developing an HSE code will certainly protect PAAET from the legal liabilities in case of accidents and injuries and it will ensure maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. The main study comprised of two main issues. Firstly, obtaining a feed back from different departments at PAAET of whether HSE code or regulations exist or not. Secondly, questionnaires were distributed at College of Technological Studies and College of Health Science to get the staff members’ response. Accordingly, data was collected and analyzed using a proper statistical package in order to illustrate all the deficiencies in the existing system. Accordingly, adequate guidelines and recommendations are imposed through an applicable HSE code.
