The areas of research covered in the programs of the institute broadly relate to isolation, structural, synthetic and pharmacological studies on novel natural products as well as various aspects of protein chemistry.

Application: Evaporation of organic solvents

Two units of the BUCHI Rotavapor R-250 are extensively used on industrial scale for the evapo¬ration and recovery of organic solvents from the crude extracts of a very important medicinal plant 'Azadarichta Indica', commonly known as Neem. The material from these extracts has a variety of potential therapeutic uses.

Equipment: Rotavapor® R-250

BUCHI's Industrial Rotavapor is regularly working 8 hours approximately daily without any major breakdown. A self standing body and the motorized movement of the water bath make it very easy to operate. A single person can handle the 50 liter evaporating flask with the help of the flask handler (accessory provided by BUCHI) which is a great benefit.

Benefit / Conclusion:

The Industrial Rotavapor is a robust and reliable instrument with practically no downtime. The safety and the user-friendly features of the R-250 make it stand out compared to similar prod¬ucts available on the market.
