In 1993, flooding in an adjacent stream caused a slope failure along a 300 foot section of Old Highway 100 in Franklin County, Missouri.
Many attempts were made over the years to stabilize the slope and roadway, and none were successful. Flooding caused the slope that supported the highway to give way and become hazardous.

A porous concrete slope protection facing was used to cover approximately 9,000 square yards of high-strength Geotex® 4x4 woven fabric from Propex™. The combination of the geotextile wrapped reinforcement and the concrete facing permanently repaired the slope, making Old Highway 100 safe again for travelers.

This project not only demonstrated equivalent performance to other competitor solutions, but was done at a much lower cost.
