Grasspave2 vs Asphalt Paving Cost Comparison

Economic Considerations -

Grasspave2 paving is competitive with asphalt paving, and has a lower life cycle cost due to low maintenance costs and no need for surface replacement (if new grass is needed, just reseed). Asphalt paving requires resealing every 2 to 4 years, and resurfacing every 8 to 15 years, depending upon traffic and climate.

Grasspave2 may not require any stormwater collection system, or seperate land area dedicated to stormwater detention. Depending upon the porosity of subsoils below the base course, all Grasspave2 paved areas will act as direct infiltration surfaces. Costs for such stormwater management should be added to asphalt paving costs below for a true comparison of project costs.
