Grundfos Alldos provides clean drinking water in Athens

Courtesy of

In time for the Olympic Games, Grundfos Alldos equipped the four existing Athens water treatment plants in Galatsi, Melindi, Kiourka and Aspropyrgos with state-of-the-art disinfection systems and put them into operation. In order to ensure that everything ran smoothly, a cutting-edge SCADA system was installed for remote monitoring. This means that plants, sometimes 40 km apart, can be monitored from a central control room and adjustments made if required.

The total treatment capacity of the four waterworks is 1.9 million cubic metres per day. This quantity is sufficient to supply the around 4 million inhabitants of the Athens conurbation with top quality drinking water.
