Even small numbers of bacteria are a problem for critical water systems like pharmaceutical USP water, dialysis water, and water for semiconductor manufacturing. Bacteria are often killed with UV-254, chemicals, and heat. Chemical sanitization is becoming undesirable or prohibited, creating a steady change-over to pure water systems that can be sanitized with heat.
Most bacteria are killed at 50-60°C, and essentially all bacteria are killed above 65°C.
Two common protocols have emerged for validated high purity water systems:
- 72°C for 30-60 minutes
- 80°C for 15-30 minutes
Both are effective at killing all bacteria (except for strains of temperature-loving 'thermophile' bacteria, which is a long topic in itself).
Enhanced HTS Electrodeionization Features:
- Hot Water Sanitizable at 84°C / 184°F
- Rapid Heat/Cool Cycle
- New High Temperature FDA Urethane Materials
- Sanitize without Chemicals
- Pharmaceutical Stainless Steel
- Light & Compact: easy to Ship & Handle
With our improved high-tech FDA-approved urethane material, the Electropure™ XL-HTS series is now more stable at higher temperatures. The HTS cycle temperature can extend up to 84°C, plenty of headway for either 72°C or 80°C sanitization protocols. And, you can raise the system temperature up more rapidly than ever before.
