Chicken processor Hester Industries bought a polypro Whirl/Wet to serve the breading operation at the company’s Moorefield, WV plant. The breading generated fugitive dust; the bag collectors originally installed to collect the sticky dust were not adequate to the task.
The hygroscopic nature of the dust made the Whirl / Wet dust collector a cost-effective choice. Excess spice/flour dust is collected using water as the media, and periodically dumped as a slurry into a sanitary sewer.
Hester added a second Whirl/Wet when the operation expanded. Recently, agribusiness giant ConAgra acquired Hester Industries, noted the performance efficiency of the Whirl/Wet and specified a Whirl/Wet for the Farmersville, LA ConAgra plant.
Whirl / Wet is ideally suited to a wide variety of dusts, including those generated by hygroscopic food and beverage ingredients.
