Innovative portable package wastewater treatment plants - Case study

DEVISE ENGINEERING S.A. has designed, engineered and is currently producing a new series of State of the Art Portable Sewage Treatment Plants (PSTP), incorporating advanced Ultra-Filtration (MBR) technology.

These Plants are used for multiple “emergency” & “short-term” purposes with the ability to re-use the treated effluent. The particular Portable STP can be easily installed in the designated site and if needed, it can be swiftly relocated by standard platform trucks, deployed and be ready for operation within few days.

Furthermore, the PSTP includes fully automatic operation (PLC & SCADA), tele-monitoring, quick assembly & disassembly philosophy with the use of ‘quick-coupling’ connections, durable flexible piping, high quality materials of construction for “tough-terrains”, removable covers, low-maintenance requirements, air-conditioned machine & operator’s room. The effluent water is suitable for most of the Water Re-Use applications, including unrestricted irrigation, while the quality achieved is very high (BOD¬ 5 mg/l, COD¬ 50 mg/l, TSS¬ 2 mg/l, NH4- N¬ 2 mg/l, Total Coliform Rejection: 99,99%).

The Portable STP (MBR) series usually consists of the following units:

  • Automatic Pretreatment Stage
  • Aerobic / Anoxic Reactors
  • Membrane Bioreactor Tanks (MBR Tanks)
  • Machinery Operator Room (Containerized Fully Automated)

DEVISE ENGINEERING S.A. can supply such portable units in many capacities, ranging from 100 to 1,000 m3/day, while multiple modules can offer plant capacities up to 10,000 m3/day. Two 1,000 m3/d capacity Portable MBR Plants are currently used by the state of Qatar. These DEVISE plants have fully met the client’s requirements in terms of quality and performance.
