a/ A model of the Burana-Po di Volano (B-PV) watershed has been developed, calibrated and tested against experimental data (Galbiati et al., 2005). The model tool named ISSM (Integrated Surface and Subsurface model) is composed by the hydrological model (SWAT), the groundwater model (MODFLOW and MT3DMS) and the in-stream water quality model (QUAL2E).
b/ A 3D biogeochemical model of Sacca di Goro has been developed and tested (Marinov et al., 2005) using spatial-temporal data sets available in the DITTY database. The model is an integrated version which combines two 0D models (Zaldívar et al., 2003a,b) and a 3D hydrodynamic model COHERENS (Luyten et al., 1999) adapted for Sacca di Goro (Marinov et al., 2004).
c/ Finally, an integrated 3D lagoon model was run using daily water quantity and quality data from the watershed model. Since the previous steps have been already reported, this work focuses on the final part.
