Jamaican Water Resources Authority Ensures Reliable Water for 2.8 Million Island Residents

For over fifty years Jamaica has undertaken comprehensive water resource management and forecasting in order to ensure adequate and safe water supplies are available country-wide.

This has been achieved by the Jamaican Water Resources Authority (WRA) through a combination of direct planning, resource monitoring, data analysis, and a great level of cooperation between government and non-government agencies to ensure a truly integrated approach to water resources management.

Maintaining hundreds of water monitoring sites across the island, the WRA maintains a one-of-a-kind database of data that goes back decades, allowing informed decisions to be made regarding water for Jamaica's citizens, tourists, businesses, and industries.
