Mayor of London has launched a new Source London Scheme that adds 150 charging points, and integrates different membership schemes.

London has made a significant effort to become the “electric car capital of Europe” with the launch of the Source London Scheme that adds 150 charging points in the city. The creation of the first capital-wide charging network is an attempt to overturn fears of 'range anxiety'. Motorists looking to switch to electric cars have been partly hindered by the fear that batteries will need recharging after around 100 miles of driving.

The opening of the Source London scheme means an increase on charging points from the roughly 250 previously available to the current 400 points available now in the city. Ultimately, the plan is to have 1,300 points by 2013, or no more than one mile from every Londoner...
