The Water and Sewerage Works in Oslo, Norway was recently awarded the Global Award in Communications by the International Water Association for their information campaign about the use of biogas for city buses.
The campaign’s goals to be seen and to be remembered had two objectives:
1. Inform the public about biogas. It is a by-product from wastewater that is environmentally-friendly (does not have to be created) and unlike other fuels it does not contribute to increased CO2 levels. When biogas is used as an alternative fuel source it reduces the amount of CO2 emissions.
2. Generate enthusiasm for Oslo municipality’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
