Making Carbon Assessments Viable
Amanda Burmeister & Dan Kuipers Receive GHG-IQ Certification Climate change is one of the leading challenges our world faces today. CSA America, a highly accredited standards writing body, has taken the next step in addressing one of the major causes of climate change by developing the Greenhouse Gas Inventory Quantifier (GHG-IQ) certification. The certification was designed to promote consistency in GHG inventory development practices, help manage risks and identify opportunities for reducing GHG emissions, and provide access to a pool of competent professionals. With the impending implementation of a system designed to regulate our nation’s greenhouse gases, it is easy to understand why the need for such a certification is necessary. Many businesses have use for professionals certified through an internationally recognized program such as this, however these highly sought after professionals are typically few and far between. There are only 67 certificates distributed to date world wide, 36 of which are located in the United States, and four of those can be found in Michigan. Dan Kuipers, Project Consultant & Grant Team Leader and Amanda Burmeister, Production Coordinator at Viability, LLC located in downtown Holland, claim two of these certifications. Viability, LLC is a consulting firm that specializes in acquiring grants, securing tax incentives, generating carbon credit financing, and realizing other incentives to lower costs our client’s cost and improve their return on investment.
