Vogtlin mass flow controllers are an excellent tool for precise control of gas flows in bioreactors. Bio reactors are used for critical and delicate processes where mass flow control of relevant gases need to be reliable, repeatable and flexible. For example, the dissolved oxygen needs to be carefully controlled to obtain repeatable pH control and volumes of fermentation gases like CO and H2 influence mass transfer coefficients.

Vogtlin mass flow controllers are an excellent tool for precise control of gas flows. With dynamic ranges of over 100:1 (application dependent), up to 10 different programmed gases in every flow meter and a strong valve that can handle a wide range of inlet and outlet pressures, flexibility is guaranteed. Mass flow controllers allow superior gas controls compared with traditional variable area meter with a manual valve. As well as better gas flow control, MFCs provide the ability to automate processes and record gas flow electronically for future reference.

Vogtlin is already a major supplier of mass flow instrumentation to reactor system manufacturers. The red-y series of mass flow controllers provides simple stand-alone solutions for table top systems or IP67 (NEMA6) and ATEX certified units that can be in a lab that needs to regularly washed down with high pressure water-jet cleaners.
