The thought process behind this presentation of “Math Solutions” comes from my 24-plus years of training experience in wastewater. I learned that many operators were held back from advancing their operator license because they struggled with the mathematics portion of wastewater operator certification examinations.
This tool for operators – represented through video tutorials – offering mathematical templates for performing accurate wastewater calculations. The tool also provides definitions, explanations, and alternative applications for the calculations beyond the specific examples presented. In addition to operators, it may also serve educators, engineers, regulators, and others.
Practical applications for the tool includes this presentation of Flow Rate Conversion calculations.
Flow Rate Conversion calculations in your plant may be required similar to one of the following:
Flow data is provided in many units of expression such as liters or milliliters in the metric system or gallons in the American system and also many different time increments including seconds, minutes, hours or days.
Depending on your calculation using flow, converting the unit or time of expression may be required for an accurate calculation.
Some common flow rate conversion calculations are accessible below:
Calculate/Convert flow between Cubic Meters and Gallons
Cubic Meters per Second (cms) to Million Gallons per Day (MGD):
