Metal alkoxides as molecular precursor for the synthesis of metal oxide nanomaterials
Courtesy of Inderscience Publishers
A versatile, convenient and non-toxic wet chemical method was utilised for the synthesis of uniform and monodispersable high-tech metal oxide nanopowder with controlled functional properties via using oxo-metal alkoxide as a single source molecular precursor at low temperature. The powder was characterised by different analytical techniques. SEM-EDS analyses showed consistency with the formulation. XRD patterns show an enhanced homogeneity at high temperature. TGA/DTA measurements show that thermal decomposition occurred in steps that depend entirely on the chemical compositions and the synthesis routes. SEM and TEM observation reveals that the uniform morphology and particle size strongly depend on synthesis routes.
