Methane venting with Terram

The site of the Hewlett-Packard building and car park had been an old clay pit from the 60s until the mid 80s. It was filled with construction waste and had a very low methane risk, but an adjacent site was filled with domestic infill and lateral methane gas migration was possible

An important safety measure specified and utilised under the buildings and the car parks incorporated horizontal layers of Terram 1BZ and 1BI, with a pipe venting system to provide a cut-off and lateral control to prevent any methane gas migration. Refer to diagram for full details.
