Mitigating the effect of weather on environmental noise measurements

0

Many factors play a part when creating a reliable environmental noise assessment. This paper provides a practical look at the effect of weather conditions on sound levels to raise awareness of the importance of meteorology in noise measurements. It references requirements for measuring meteorology in BS-4142:2014 and compares them to legislation from other countries. It also covers how variations due to weather can add considerably to measurement uncertainty and should not be overlooked.
