Brüel & Kjær Vibro announces the world-wide release of the new VDAU-6000. This state-of-the-art condition monitoring system provides an economical alternative to rack-based systems for condition monitoring of rotating machinery, in particular auxiliary machines and balance-of-plant applications. The high density 16-channel parallel processing functionality also lends itself to the monitoring of complex machine trains. The VDAU-6000 can be field mounted directly next to the machines (Zone II ATEX certified) or placed in an instrument cabinet as a condition monitoring extension to an existing safety monitoring system.
The VDAU-6000 introduces powerful yet easy to use scalar condition monitoring functionality that provides up to 16 different frequency band measurement tasks per vibration input channel, together with speed and process parameter measurements. These scalar measurements include running speed and harmonics, vectors, blade passing frequencies, bearing fault frequencies, and the like. These scalar values are easy to monitor and trend, provide early fault detection without false alarms, and do not require in-depth diagnostic expertise for interpretation. Moreover, each of these measurements can be monitored for specific operating conditions, thus providing even earlier reliable fault detection.
The VDAU-6000’s powerful yet user-friendly monitoring software and database platform, Monitoring Workstation, is the same used on our flagship rack-based condition monitoring system Compass 6000. The optional Diagnostic Workstation software provides versatile on-line time waveform recording and analysis capabilities. The raw time signals for all channels are simultaneously recorded and can be stored and post-processed for analysis using FFT, cepstra, enveloping, etc.
