The Leakwise ID-227 wired and ID-227WL wireless systems consist of a sensor mounted on a wave rider buoy. This enables the detecting antenna to function at the liquid/air interface despite liquid level fluctuations due to waves and tide. Both systems are designed to install offshore, monitor oil on water on waves up to six feet (two meters) high and in currents up to two knots, and survive extreme sea conditions. An optional automatic cleaning system ensures continuous, maintenance-free operation in waters with high algae growth, seaweed, barnacles, etc.
The ID-227WL has the wireless capability to communicate via point-to-point radio or via GSM cellular network. If required, a satellite communication can be supplied. The ID-227WL is a stand-alone unit with autonomous solar power supply (see Figure 1). The system has alarm and control capabilities via dry contact relays and 4-20mA signal output. The ID-227 wired model (see Figure 2) is supplied with a floating cable and can be connected to its signal processor and controller located up to 1000 meters away.
