VAPOR MITIGATION CHALLENGES:
The entire retail complex required various remediation activities to be allowed to build. Having used Liquid Boot on other Olive Garden projects, Darden Restaurants knew which vapor barrier and venting system to use that would protect their building efficiently and a significant cost savings. The chief contaminants of concern were Creosote from a former storage lagoon.
Though the Architect specified Liquid Boot, it was up to us to provide the details and design for the job. CETCO technical sales managers drew up the details and designed the venting layout so that the system would operate at max efficiency. The particular products were chosen because of the nature of contamination and the specific subgrades used on the construction site. Because of the building's intended use as a restaurant, there were quite a few penetrations on the site. As a spray applied membrane, Liquid Boot made for the ideal solution to seal to penetrations and the perimeter footing. The outcome was very successful with the entire project, start to finish, including QA and QC, taking 3 days time. This created little impact on the project's timeline which was much to the satisfaction of the general contractor.
