Oxford Instruments specialises in the design, manufacture and support of high-technology tools and systems for industry, research, space, energy, defence and healthcare.

Business needs
Oxford Instruments needed to improve the management of Health & Safety acrossall locations. A gap analysis identified a number of key areas of focus including Oxford Instruments’ inconsistent methods for assessing risks, difficulties in tracking actions and poor accessibility of information and data.

They also needed to find a more efficient way of recording and reporting accidents, documenting and sharing risk assessment results and collating all COSHH data sheets and assessments.

Standards achieved: Two of the Group’s major sites are now certified to the OHSAS18001 H&S Management System standard.

The Rivo solution was selected to provide a common system and consistent approach to managing Oxford Instrument’s Health & Safety requirements.The organisation now has a reliable and accurate way of recording and reporting on accident and incidents data.It can document and share risk assessment results, track all actions through to completion and collate all COSHH data sheets and assessments.
