Encraft has been working with the Energy and Carbon Management team at Northamptonshire County Council over 18 months to identify commercially-viable energy investment projects and manage them to create long-term revenue streams for the Council. Over £1 billion of projects were initially identified and more than £50 million of investment projects are already being developed and delivered.
Encraft were engaged by Northamptonshire in late 2010 to scope out the potential for commercially-viable low carbon energy initiatives across the county. Our initial work identified more than £1 billion of fundable investment projects and close to £100 million of potential revenues for the Council.
We have subsequently worked to develop and manage the highest potential ‘quick wins’ and projects, including
- More than £800,000 of energy efficiency investments in schools (all with paybacks within 5 years)
- A number of medium-sized solar photovoltaic projects
- Developing a £26 million biomass-fired combined heat and power scheme for a major regeneration scheme
We provide on-going technical input into the County’s Energy and Carbon Management Team, providing impartial technical support into feasibility studies and procurement processes, and are currently developing a range of fundable schools and district energy schemes.
