Oxidative degradation of Ethylenediaminetetracetic acid in aqueous solution using the polymorphs of gallium oxide, γ– and β–Ga2O3/H2O2 system was studied in this paper. Nanophases of γ– and β–Ga2O3 were synthesised through solution combustion method and characterised using Powder X–ray diffraction (XRD), Thermogravimetry (TG), Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA), and Raman spectra. The photocatalytic degradation efficiency these catalysts was compared with P–25 TiO2. 5 mg of Ga2O3 + 0.5 ml of H2O2 was employed as photocatalyst for the degradation of 1000 mg/l EDTA. Kinetics of EDTA degradation followed the order: β– Ga2O3+H2O2 > γ– Ga2O3+ H2O2 > P–25 TiO2+ H2O2.
