Planning and construction of the Munich north combined heat and power plant

The Munich North combined heat and power plant, construction of which commmenced in the autumn of 1988, was a project that set new standards in terms not only of plant diversity and output rating but also of technological design. The present paper attempts to give a general outline of the plant design concept, which combines the aim of maximizing plant operating capabilities with a commitment to progress in environmental engineering. The plant is scheduled to go on line in the autumn of next year after a three-year construction period.
