Tumors derived from breast cancer xenografts and metastatic lymph nodes were homogenized on the Precellys24 for total RNA extraction. RNA quality was analyzed on an electrophoresis gel.

Conclusion

The Precellys (high-throughput) and Minilys [low-throughput] homogenizers significantly decreases the time spent on tumor tissue processing, and maintains high quality DNA, RNA or protein extraction. The Precellys homogenizers can be coupled with the Cryolys cooling unit to maintain a constant temperature of 4°C, which is particularly important for RNA, enzyme or metabolite extraction.
