Pulsar`s Blackbox 136 Level CSO Controller provides an immediate view of sewage overflow events in Ljubljana, Slovenia
Slovenia's largest water distribution and waste water disposal company, Javno podjetje Vodovod-Kanalizacija d.o.o. Ljubljana, invited Pulsar distributor, MIMOS, to help gather information of sewage overflow events along local rivers. By using a combination of MIMOS software,Pulsar's Blackbox 136 Level CSO Controller and dB Transducers, Javno podjetje Vodovod-Kanalizacija d.o.o. Ljubljana can now have an immediate view of any sewage overflow events and can quickly report that information to government bodies when requested.
Equipment used:
The waste water network in Ljubljana dates back to 1882 when the first sewage canal was constructed and that same canal is still in use today. The underground sewage canal network is vital to Javno podjetje Vodovod-Kanalizacija d.o.o. Ljubljana's mission of supplying healthy drinking water to Ljubljana's people and systemically draining and treating waste water from the sewage system.
In recent years, Javno podjetje Vodovod-Kanalizacija d.o.o. Ljubljana have begun tackling the issue of sewer canal sections posing a high risk threat of spilling into the local rivers. As part of this development, MIMOS, a Pulsar Process Measurement distributor, were invited to install equipment which would monitor the sewer level and measure flow at the high risk spillage river points.
A total of fifteen points of measurement were supplied and fitted using Pulsar's Blackbox 136 Level CSO Controller and an accompanying dB3 or dB6 Transducer. A control panel to house the Blackbox 136 Level CSO Controller, modem and battery was also supplied during the installation to aid the equipment in its remote environment.
The proprietary software, Varia Program supplied by MIMOS, provides Javno podjetje Vodovod-Kanalizacija d.o.o. Ljubljana with a total view of the measured results straight to their computer.
From their office they can analyse the measurement results and, easily and quickly send information to the government when requested.
Pulsar Process Measurement's Blackbox 136 Level CSO Controller is a sophisticated ultrasonic system specifically designed for non-contacting monitoring of level or overflow events, with exceptionally low power consumption to maximise battery life in remote locations.
Within its use along river points for Javno podjetje Vodovod-Kanalizacija d.o.o. Ljubljana, the Blackbox 136 Level CSO Controller wakes every five minutes to provide an immediate view of what is going on at the Ljubljana river installation points and allows the water/waste water company to present this information to their governing body if requested.
With the success of these first fifteen points of measurement, MIMOS have now supplied a further twelve points of measurement to the Slovenian end user. Pulsar have in total installed thirty-nine level measurement devices at thirty-one river locations in Slovenia.
