The booklet 'Q&A To Constructed Wetlands' provides a better understanding on the use of constructed wetlands to treat wastewater as compared to conventional methods. This booklet was jointly produced by The National Hydraulic Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM) and Wetlands International, Malaysia.
Constructed Wetlands are artificial wastewater treatment systems consisting of shallow ponds or channels which have been planted with wetland plants and which rely upon natural microbial, biological, physical and chemical processes to treat wastewater. This treatment system is natural and cheaper option to conventional methods of treating wastewater.
The booklet addresses several common questions and provides answers regarding the constructed wetlands.
