RamanFest 2016: Highlights from a Successful Conference
The 4th annual RamanFest was held on May 19th and 20th in Berlin Adlershof, Germany, in partnership with the Humboldt University of Berlin. More than 130 participants attended the 2016 RamanFest to hear about the latest developments of Raman Spectroscopy presented by internationally renowned speakers in the fields of Life Science, Materials & Biomaterials, Emerging Technologies and Industrial applications. As highlighted by the talks, Raman spectroscopy is a very promising technique for life science applications and is currently being investigated as a solution to existing unmet medical needs.
The poster session offered the opportunity to network and exchange ideas, and lead to interesting conversations between researchers, students and speakers. The organizers selected the three best posters submitted by students in recognition of their hard work, and for sharing their innovative ideas during the conference.
During the 2 days of RamanFest, our application scientists pioneered the demonstration of TERS (Tip Enhanced Raman Scattering) in out –of-the –lab conditions ; the XploRA Nano, equipped with Silver AFM-TERS tips, showed chemical imaging of single-walled carbon nanotubes and graphene oxide flakes with a spatial resolution < 10 nm.
Since its debut in 2013, and 4 successful conferences organized in France, USA, China and Germany, RamanFest continues to grow, with an increasing number of attendees each year. RamanFest has become the definitive conference to learn about the latest in cutting edge Raman and Nano-Raman techniques from leading scientists, academians and industrial experts.
We would like to thank all participants in this year’s RamanFest 2016 for making our event a huge success! We hope to see you at RamanFest 2017, which will be held in Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, USA, in June 2017.
