HYDROGEN is the most prevalent Element in the Universe… the “essence of Star Stuff” according to the late, great Carl Sagan. It is the ultimate “clean” fuel, with WATER as the predominant waste product… though care must be taken to minimize its unfortunate tendency to cause explosions. Hydrogen is formed in Nuclear Reactors, from low-efficiency Hydrolysis, in smaller amounts from natural Bio-Mass degradation, and in greater amounts from synthetically “tailored” anaerobic Bacteria acting on such waste, and from Catalytic and Hydrolytic Reduction of Methanol and low-MW Organic compounds.
