Ready, set... mix: water re-use and its role in concrete mixing

Water is a key element to the concrete ready-mix manufacturing process. From mixing new concrete to cleaning out trucks, high volumes of water are in demand. To stay ahead, many operations, large and small, are prepared to re-evaluate their process to find opportunities for water re-use.
A filter press is an effective piece of equipment for concrete water recycling. It separates cement fines from washout water. Water pumped through a filter press is clean and able to be re-used to make new concrete, or, with a filter bag to wash trucks. If there is an excess of re-useable water it can be easily disposed of because the filtrate is free of solids.
